Smappee has been nominated for the Rising Star Award 2014. The Rising Star election is part of the Deloitte Technology Fast50 competition and is specially designed for technology companies existing less than five years. The nominated companies will face the challenge on 22 October in Brussels and will compete by means of Elevator Pitches for the title of ‘Rising Star 2014’.
Stefan Grosjean, Founder and C.E.O. at Smappee: “We are honoured to be nominated for the Rising Star Award 2014. This nomination is a recognition for our activities. It shows that we are on the right path and that we continue to grow.”
Vincent Fosty, partner at Deloitte and Technology Fast50 leader for Belgium: “Once again this year, we have seen a lot of companies nominated for the Fast50 list for the first time. We view this as a very positive development and it demonstrates that there is still plenty of movement going on in the technology sector in Belgium. In the scope of 4 technology segments that cover the technology landscape, the companies in the category IT & Digital Solutions are the most dominant. Companies in operating in the field of Internet, Media & Telecom are also well represented and there are a number of high-tech companies (nanotech, biotech, clean tech & medical technology) on the list, too. And once again this year, the companies nominated for the title of Rising Star look like promising businesses that no doubt we will see at a later stage on the Fast50 list.”
About the Rising Star Award
The Deloitte Technology Fast50 competition is the recurring annual election of the fifty fastest growing technology companies, which for the first time is held for Belgian technology companies (formerly Benelux, in cooperation with the Netherlands). The selection criteria are turnover growth in terms of percentage during the past five years. Companies existing for less than five years can participate to the Rising Star category. These companies are judged by an independent jury on their turnover potential and scaling. Fast50 participants can be private or public sector companies and cover every segment of the technology market, including IT, software, telecom, media, internet, biotech, nanotech, medtech, clean tech & energy technology. The Technology Fast50 programme is more than a competition. Participants become part of the Fast50 network and can participate in seminars that are organised throughout the year.
