What are dynamic rates?
Energy suppliers are increasingly required to offer dynamic energy price contracts. With these contracts, electricity prices vary per day and usually even per hour. These flexible rates are linked to prices in wholesale electricity markets. In this way, the governments hope that consumers will become more energy conscious.
How can you save with dynamic rates?
When renewable energy production is high, such as on sunny or windy days, or when demand is low, such as at night, you as a consumer pay a lower price for your electricity. If you switch your electricity consumption to those times, such as by charging your electric car during high solar production or at night, you can save significantly or even get paid for the electricity you consume.

The Smappee App monitors your power consumption
The Smappee App allows you to use dynamic rates. You can activate different charging programs in the app and choose whether you want to charge at dynamic rates. With the app, you know exactly when your car is charging, when charging is paused due to a higher electricity price or higher power consumption by other devices in your house, and when charging is reactivated.
