NPI & Process Engineer

What can you expect from your job at Smappee?

  • You take the lead in the industrialisation of new products from prototyping to series production.
  • During development, you’ll focus on Design for Assembly, Design for Repair, Design for Test/Validation, etc.
  • You prepare the manufacturing documentation and coordinate with in-house Production colleagues, as well as Contract Manufacturers on the preparation of prototypes, pre-production and series production.
  • You liaise with R&D, Purchasing and Suppliers/Subcontractors to ensure a stable production process, as well as the quality of output.
  • You design and manufacture jigs, tools or fixtures to improve manufacturing process consistency.
  • You guarantee that newly developed products are manufactured smoothly before release.
  • You look for optimisation opportunities and the drive implementation of those in-house, as well as at supplier/subcontractor locations.
  • You champion continuous improvement of efficiency and effectiveness in general in collaboration with production and engineering colleagues.
  • You strive to maximise production output and first-pass yield by optimising functional test setups and simplifying processes.
  • You develop a network within Smappee, as well as with suppliers and other manufacturing companies to ensure the timely and successful implementation of industry best practices.

What are we looking for?

  • You have a master’s degree in industrial engineering or are equal by experience.
  • You have a passion for mechatronics, electrical engineering, electronics.
  • You have at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • You are both energy- and tech-savvy.
  • Taking ownership, quality oriented and problem solving are typical you.
  • You are familiar with Lean Manufacturing principles and enthousiast about applying those in practice.
  • Basic software/programming experience is an asset, for instance Python.
  • You have a pro-active working attitude with good communication skills.
  • You have a ‘green heart’ and you believe in renewable energy.
  • You can express yourself in English and Dutch. Knowledge of an other language is an added value.
