Smappee’s Modbus energy meter offers accurate submetering and energy metering functionalities such as current, line voltages, phase voltages, frequency, active and reactive energy, power quality registers, two-way data for cumulative registers. The data is transferred via Modbus RTU (RS-485) to any 3rd party gateway, data logger or scada system.

The setup consists of one Power Box and multiple CT Hubs or Solid Core 3-phase CTs. The Power Box collects, calculates and transfers the data and provides power to all components. Connect up to 4 Current Transformers (CTs) or Rogowski coils to a CT Hub to measure different currents up to 10,000 A. Daisy chain several CT Hubs and/or Solid Core 3-phase CTs to measure loads up to a distance of 100 meters (109 yards). Configuration can be done by using a desktop Java Application* or can be programmed by writing the necessary Modbus registers.

The setup can be used stand-alone or can easily be extended with other components of the Smappee Infinity concept, adding more control, data or visualisation options at any time. For example, add a Smappee Wi-Fi Connect to create a Modbus TCP/IP meter.
