DEMAN Smart Overhead Cranes chooses smart charging infrastructure
To electrify their fleet and offer visitors smooth charging, DEMAN Smart Overhead Cranes was looking for a scalable, future-proof solution. Together with partner Suntronics, the company opted for Smappee’s integrated ecosystem of AC and DC chargers, energy management and user-friendly charging services. The result: insight, control and a charging hub that grows alongside their sustainability ambitions.

DEMAN Smart Overhead Cranes is a Belgian manufacturer of intelligent overhead travelling and hoisting cranes. Challenge
With the electrification of its fleet and a growing number of EV visitors, DEMAN needed a scalable charging solution. They wanted one smart platform that offers clear insight into consumption and costs, as well as simple access management for employees, visitors, local residents and passers-by. It also had to automate payments and be prepared for future expansion to full site-wide energy management.
Solution
Smappee and Suntronics implemented an integrated system with 11 AC chargers (EV Base), 1 DC fast charger (EV Ultra), a Pay Station for user-friendly payments and Smappee Infinity for energy management. Through Smappee’s split billing service, employees are automatically reimbursed for home charging sessions. Thanks to dynamic load balancing and smart software, DEMAN optimises its energy use and prepares to integrate production consumption into the EMS as well.
We did not build an ordinary charging hub but a future-oriented energy solution. The next step? Connecting our production consumption to the EMS to create one integrated energy overview.
